What Are Hare's Ear Nymphs? The Hare's Ear nymph is a traditional pattern that uses natural hare's ear fur for the body. It's been around for decades and remains one of the most effective general nymph patterns ever created.
Key Characteristics:
  • Hare's Ear Dubbing: Natural fur creates a buggy, lifelike appearance
  • Gold Ribbing: Wire or tinsel ribbing for segmentation and flash
  • Wing Case: Usually dark feather fibers or synthetic material
  • Natural Colors: Tan, brown, olive variations matching the fur
