Flash Damsels

Flash Damsel Trout Flies: Flash Damsel trout flies are without a doubt one of the best sellers and most widely used on still waters. The original started out as olive blue flash damsel but they have developed into a range of variations now. The black and orange are equally effective - keep a few of each in your fly box as they are great when nothing else seems to work, definitely a secret weapon!
Classic Flash Damsels:
  • Blue Flash Damsel - Black
  • Flash Damsel - Black/Red
  • Flash Damsel - Olive Blue (the original pattern)
  • Flash Damsel - Olive/Red
Goldhead Versions:
  • Goldhead Flash Damsel - Pink/Blue
  • Goldhead Flash Damsel - Red/Blue
Mini Versions:
  • Barbless Mini Goldhead Flash Damsel - Orange/Blue
  • Barbless Mini Goldhead Flash Damsel - Orange/Red
What Makes Them Special: These are absolutely brilliant stillwater patterns that have proven themselves as consistent fish-catchers. The flash materials add that extra attraction that often triggers strikes when other patterns fail. They're particularly effective on lakes, reservoirs, and ponds.
Why They're So Effective: The combination of damselfly nymph profile with added flash materials creates patterns that are both realistic and highly attractive. They work as both imitative patterns (when damselflies are present) and as attractors when you need that extra flash to grab attention.
Flash Damsels are honestly "secret weapons" for stillwater fishing - they're the kind of patterns that consistently produce when other flies aren't working. The variety of colors and styles gives you great flexibility for different conditions!
