UTC Fly Tying Thread – Extra Strong, Smooth, and Perfectly Flat This high‑quality UTC thread is silky smooth, extra strong, and designed to lay beautifully flat on the hook. Slightly waxed for excellent grip and control, it’s ideal for creating neat, low‑build bodies and precise finishes. Available in a great range of colours on 100‑yard spools, with a choice of 70 denier or 140 denier.

Thread sizes:

  • 70 denier – roughly equivalent to 8/0, an extra‑fine thread perfect for small and delicate flies

  • 140 denier – similar to 6/0, a versatile general‑purpose option for a wide range of patterns
