Fly Line Frenzy

Unlike the rest of the fly-fishing community, here in the UK we love to have the full range of options when it comes to fly lines.

For many, a floating line, intermediate and some kind of sinker is all that’s required. However, this often isn’t the case with us Brits. Take a peak in the ‘average angler’s’ tackle bag and you’ll likely see an array of fly lines for covering the whole water column and presenting flies from the surface, right down to the lake bed.

The problem with having so many fly lines, and yes we probably do have too many, is storage. They need to be spooled up and ready to go. Obviously, we can’t have a dozen or more fly reels sitting in our box. What’s needed is a cassette reel!

It's light weight, superb balance and easy spool changing capability makes it the go to reel for today's U.K. Stillwater angler.

The reel balances perfectly on our Stillmaniac rods and is ideal for storing several different types of sinking lines.

The cassette has a quick change system so you only need to unscrew the locking ring for half a turn, and you can pull it out.

It also has a solid area where you can write with a marker pen the line which you have on it.

The reel comes in a handy neoprene case with 3 cassettes and if you need more, they are available in moderately priced 2-packs.
